John has been an ENT consultant for 25 years, working in Glasgow since 1994. He trained at the Universities of St Andrews and Cambridge. Postgraduate training included working at the Royal Marsden Hospital, Leicester Royal Infirmary and the Chinese University of Hong Kong.
He passed the FRCS exams in 1993 and has been on the Specialist Register for Otolaryngology since 1997.
He specializes in conditions of the nose and sinuses (Rhinology) and ears and hearing (Otology).
He was Clinical Director for Ear Nose and Throat for Greater Glasgow and Clyde from 2013-2023 and ENT Specialty Advisor to the Chief Medical Officer for Scotland from 2021-2023.
