Moorthy Halsnad, Maxillofacial Surgeon

Moorthy is a Consultant Oral & Maxillofacial Surgeon stationed at the Regional Maxillofacial Surgery Unit, encompassing the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital & Royal Hospital for Children (formerly known as Southern General Hospital & Yorkhill Hospital respectively) in Glasgow.

Moorthy's Educational History

Moorthy attained his Royal College of Surgeons Fellowship in the UK and commenced his career as a junior trainee, collaborating with esteemed maxillofacial surgeons across various regions including London, North Wales, Swansea, and Cambridge.

He pursued his medical and surgical training (MBChB & MRCS) at Birmingham and was subsequently admitted to the West Midland Maxillofacial specialist training programme, which spanned over 5 years. Throughout this tenure, Moorthy gained extensive exposure to a diverse spectrum of Cranio-facial, head, and neck surgeries. His repertoire included procedures ranging from oral and skin cancer removal to complex facial trauma reconstruction, facial deformity correction, microvascular surgeries of the face and neck, facial cosmetic surgeries, jaw joint surgeries, and implantology.

Moorthy made the decision to relocate to Scotland, where he assumed a consultant post at University Hospital Crosshouse in Kilmarnock. Subsequently, he was appointed as a consultant surgeon with a sub-specialty interest in Craniofacial, TMJ, and Facial deformity surgeries in Glasgow.

In his private practice, Moorthy's interests span the full range of Maxillofacial surgery, including wisdom teeth/oral surgery, correction of jaw/chin disproportions, removal of facial skin lesions/lumps, facial scar revision, and facial aesthetic surgery such as Facelifts, Blepharoplasty, Rhinoplasty (Nose Jobs), and Facial contouring/Reshaping.
