He qualified in 2003 and after completion of his basic surgical training in Glasgow, he entered a 6-year higher surgical training program in Otolaryngology (ENT) in the East of Scotland Deanery with training in all aspects of ear, nose, and throat surgery. He subsequently completed a further 1-year advanced Rhinology training fellowship in Brisbane, Australia.
Mr Ellul was appointed a Consultant in ENT with a subspecialty interest in Rhinology and Facial Plastic Surgery with NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde in 2019. He is involved in postgraduate training of ENT surgeons in Scotland and is a faculty member of nasal and sinus surgery training courses at the Surgical Skills Centre in Ninewells Hospital, Dundee, and the Facial Aesthetic Rhinoplasty course with the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh. He is an active member of the British and European Rhinological Societies, the British Society of Facial Plastic Surgery, and ENT UK.
