Mr. Ihsan Mahmood is a Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon specializing in hip and knee surgery. A strong advocate for personalized, patient-centered care, he is dedicated to delivering tailored treatment plans that prioritize the individual needs and goals of each patient.
Mr. Mahmood completed his Orthopaedic Residency (CCT) in the North East of England and further refined his expertise through advanced Fellowship training in Glasgow, Sheffield, and the world-renowned orthopaedic center in Auckland, New Zealand. During his year in Auckland, he gained highly specialized experience in robotic and computer-assisted knee replacements, as well as minimally invasive total hip replacement procedures. This cutting-edge training enables him to offer the most advanced and precise surgical techniques, ensuring faster recovery times and outstanding outcomes for his patients.
His clinical interests include minimally invasive hip replacements, partial knee replacements, and patient-specific Conformis total knee replacements. He also performs knee arthroscopy surgery and remains at the forefront of his field by regularly attending advanced training courses and collaborating with international experts in complex joint replacement procedures.
As the Service Lead for Joint Replacements at Forth Valley Royal Hospital, Mr. Mahmood plays a key role in shaping and improving arthroplasty services. He is also deeply committed to education and training, actively mentoring and guiding the next generation of orthopaedic surgeons.
